The brief

A sample site for a wood-fire restaurant with a cellar bar. A restaurant site has one job: make people hungry, then get them to book a table.

What we built

• A split menu

  Move the cursor left to open the food menu and right for drinks. On a phone, they become simple tabs.

• Three ways to spend an evening

  The cellar bar, the chef's tasting menu and private dining, each with its own section.

• Table reservations

  A form to tell the restaurant when you're coming and how many you'll be.

• Hours and directions

  Opening hours and how to find the restaurant, at the end of the page.

The design

Dark and warm, like a room lit by fire, with large food photos and a menu that's fun to explore.

Built for phones and Google

The menu is real text, not a PDF or a photo, so Google can read it and it's easy to use on any phone.
